* 1 teaspoon Ghee
* 1 cup White Urad Dal (Split)
* 1 inch Cinnamon stick
* 3 Cloves (Laung)
* 3 Dry Red Chillies
* 1 Onion – finely chopped
* 3 cloves Garlic – finely chopped
* 1/2 inch Ginger – finely chopped
* 1 Tomato – finely chopped
* 1 Green Chilli – slit
* 1/4 teaspoon Red Chilli powder
* 1 teaspoon Coriander Powder (Dhania)
* 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder (Haldi)
* 1/4 teaspoon Garam masala powder
* 3 sprig Coriander (Dhania) Leaves – chopped
* 3 cups Water
* 1 tablespoon Ghee
* 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds (Jeera)
* 1 teaspoon Black pepper corns – lightly crushed

### Step-by-Step Instructions to Make Dal Kabila Recipe – Diabetic Urad Dal Tadka:

1. cinnamon stick, cloves and saute until you can smell the aromas of the spices coming through.
2. Add Onions and slit green chillies and saute until the onions soften and change colour.
3. Stir in the tomatoes, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, and saute.
4. Finally add the split urad dal, salt along with 3 cups of water and cook for 5 to 6 whistles (about 15 minutes).
5. Once done, turn off the heat and allow the pressure to release naturally.
6. Once the pressure has released, check the salt and adjust according to taste.
7. Transfer the Dal Kabila/ Urad Dal Tadka to a serving bowl.
8. The final step is the tadka.
9. Heat the ghee in a pan over medium heat; add the cumin seeds, crushed black pepper and sauce for a few seconds until the cumin seeds crackle.
10. Spoon the takda over the Dal Kabila and serve hot.
