* 2 Onions – Cut into roundels
* 1 cup Gram flour (besan)
* 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder (Haldi)
* 1 teaspoon Red Chilli powder
* 1 teaspoon Ajwain (Carom seeds)
* 1 pinch Asafoetida (hing)
* Salt – to taste

### Step-by-Step Instructions to Make Onion Bajji Recipe -Vengaya Bajji/ South Indian Onion Pakora:

1. we need to make the besan pakora batter first.
2. In a mixing bowl combine all the ingredients of bajji batter which includes gram flour, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, ajwain, asafoetida, and salt.
3. Mix in just enough water to form a thick batter to thickly coat back of a spoon.
4. Keep the batter aside.
5. Heat oil in a kadai for deep frying the onion bajji on medium heat.
6. Coat each of the sliced onion roundels in the gram flour bajji batter and gradually let it into the oil and deep fry until golden brown in color.
7. Drain the Onion Bajji on an absorbent paper placed in a plate to absorb the excess oil  and serve hot.
8. Serve Onion Bajji Recipe along with Green Chutney and a steaming hot cup of Adrak Chai.
9. This onion bajji is also simple to make and makes a great indian party starter.
