### Ingredients for Phalguni Dal (Recipe):

* 1/4 cup lentils – wash
* 1/4 cup green peas
* 1 cup onion – finely chopped
* 1 tomato – finely chopped
* 1/2 inch ginger – grated
* 2 cloves garlic – grated
* 2 green chillies – Cut
* 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
* salt – as per taste
* 1 teaspoon mustard
* 1/2 teaspoon fenugreek seeds
* 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
* 1/2 teaspoon aniseed
* 1/2 teaspoon Kalonji seeds
* 1 teaspoon garam masala powder
* 2 teaspoons mustard oil
* asafetida – a pinch

### Step-by-Step Instructions to Make Phalguni Dal (Recipe):

1. To make phalguni dal, first put dal in a pressure cooker.
2. Add tomatoes, onions, ginger and garlic to it.
3. After this, add 1-1 / 2 cups of water.
4. Melt, close the cooker and cook till 3 cities come.
5. After coming to 3 cities, turn off the gas and let the pressure drain automatically.
6. Open the cooker and mash the lentils.
7. Now heat mustard oil in a pan.
8. Add mustard seeds, fenugreek seeds, fennel seeds, cumin seeds and kalonji.
9. Add green chilies, mix and let it cook for the next 2 minutes.
10. After 2 minutes add asafetida and green peas.
11. Let it cook for next 2 minutes.
12. After 2 minutes add masoor dal, garam masala and salt.
13. Mix and cook for 3 to 4 minutes.
14. Garnish with green coriander.
15. Serve phalguni dal with brinjal bhaja and rice for dinner.
